Onboarding

Upload the Spreadsheet You Already Have.

No RouteBot template. Drop in an Excel or CSV file as it is — students, parents, schools, addresses, and routes are read from your own columns. Review what was found, then save it. Prefer not to upload it yourself? Send the file to us and we will load it for you.

You Shouldn't Have to Rebuild a Spreadsheet Just to Start

Schools and operators already keep rosters in Excel. The columns are whatever the school, factory, or district already uses — sometimes with no headings, sometimes across several sheets. Rebuilding that file into a vendor template is the step that stalls a rollout, especially when a new list arrives the morning service starts.

    • A required import template means someone has to reshape every new file before it can be used
    • Column names differ by school, factory, and department — or there are no headings at all
    • Student lists, route lists, and parent details often live on separate sheets in the same workbook
    • Retyping thousands of names and addresses is where a software switch gets abandoned

Your File. Your Columns. Loaded When You Confirm.

Upload the Excel or CSV you already have at app.routebot.com/start, or from your account. RouteBot reads the layout — including workbooks with several sheets — and shows the students, parents, schools, addresses, services, and routes it found. You correct anything that looks wrong, then save. If you would rather not upload it yourself, send the file to us and we will load it for you, usually by the next morning.

    No Required Template

The file does not need RouteBot's columns. Different headings, missing headings, and multi-sheet workbooks are read as they are. Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV are supported.

Students, Routes, and Whatever Else Is in the File

Whatever the sheet contains — student or employee names, parent details, schools, classes, addresses, service assignments, routes — is pulled out and shown before anything is saved.

    Automatic Address Geocoding

Passenger addresses are geocoded during import, so stops have map coordinates from the first save.

Upload It Yourself, or Send It to Us

Upload the file and review it yourself. You can start at app.routebot.com/start before creating an account. Or send the spreadsheet to us and we handle the import for you.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV. The column layout does not have to match a RouteBot template. Student lists, route lists, parent details, and workbooks with several sheets are read as they are. You review what was recognized, then it is saved. PDFs and photos of printed lists are not read by the upload — send those to us and we will load them for you.
RouteBot shows what it understood before saving, and flags issues such as missing addresses, duplicate entries, or names that only partly match an existing record. You can correct them, then save. If you sent the file to us, we review those with you before the data goes live.
Either. Upload it yourself and review the result before it is saved. If you would rather not, send the file to us and we will load it for you — usually by the next morning.

    Try a Spreadsheet Import

Open app.routebot.com/start and drop in an Excel or CSV file. You can review what RouteBot recognized before creating an account. If you would rather not upload it yourself, send the file to us and we will load it. The live demo is there when you want to see routes that are already loaded.
